There's something about a soldier
After all our efforts on the Poppy Day Pub Shimmy, it was with great excitement that Bellyfusion received an invitation from the Royal British Legion Poppy Day Appeal Administration to join them at Bovington Camp in Wareham, Dorset. We were requested to come and watch a passing out parade of soldiers who have completed their tank training and are leaving for the field.

On a cold, rather wet and windy day 9 members of Bellyfusion, dressed in our Poppy Day costumes, made our way to Bovington to be met by the gallant Lt Col and his driver, driven into the camp and taken on a guided tour. Eventually, as the soldiers lined up in the rain, we were furnished with umbrellas and we stood and watched the presentation with pride.
A hurried dash across the parade ground ended with a Photo-shoot in the rain, and it was decidedly cold when we all removed our coats and posed with the guys. It was well worth every goose-bump and shiver.

Later we were treated to hot coffee in the NAFFI mess and requested to dance for the troops, a request that we were extremely pleased to honour. All-in-all it was a very pleasant and interesting morning and we were thrilled to be invited back in the Spring.
